The milling inserts are designed with or without holes. The milling insert will be fixed on the cutter body with a screw or with a clamp, and metal milling has been carried out.

Milling inserts can be used in different metal processing, such as general steel, alloy steel, tempered steel, and die steel as grade P milling inserts. Milling inserts are also widely used in stainless steel processing (grade M milling insert). Milling inserts used for cutting cast iron(grade K milling insert) are also very popular, such as those of large-scale gantry milling machines.

Under different cutting terms, the selection for the chip breaker of milling inserts will be different too.

The milling insert SEHW1204 or SEET13T3 is used in conjunction with a high-speed shoulder milling cutter with a 45-degree cutting angle.
