Carbide lathe inserts for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metal are commonly used. Tolerance for carbide lathe inserts has two common grades, M or G.
Carbide lathe inserts have ISO and ANSI coding systems.
For example, carbide lathe insert CCMT120404 is an ISO code. The carbide lathe inserts in the ANSI system will be CCMT431.
Chip breaker selection for CCMT1204 carbide lathe inserts:
GO chip breaker carbide lathe inserts for medium cuts. The JO chip breaker for carbide lathe inserts is both medium and light cutting. ECM100 or ECM200 grade carbide lathe inserts can be used for machining both general steel and stainless steel workpieces.
